Whether you're a school music teacher or private piano teacher looking to add a bit of music theory to your lesson plans, or you're a student preparing for RCM theory exams. There are many downloads available for all ages.
Composition
A lot of what we read, specifically in Classical music, is not random. There are forms, structures and patterns used to help create these compositions. Students wanting to write their own music and for it to sound cohesive can only benefit from studying theory.
Connection
When we connect our study of theory to our practical lessons, there is a deeper connection to the music. It becomes easier to play and recall. It takes the 'randomness' out of it. It can also help with performance anxiety when our memories can depend on more than muscle memory.
Understanding
Reading and understanding sheet music opens up a student's ability to learn anything they want. Couple that with ear training, and options are endless for them. Memorization confidence grows, retention grows, and frustration lessens.
