Terms and conditions.

These terms explain how the website and its teaching resources may be used. By using the site or obtaining a resource, you agree to the terms that apply to that activity.

1. Using this website

The Paperless Piano Teacher is operated by Kristin Serrick in Ontario, Canada. You may browse the site, link to its public pages, and use its content for ordinary personal and professional reference. You must not interfere with the site, attempt unauthorized access, introduce malicious code, scrape it in a way that disrupts service, or use it for unlawful purposes.

Content, prices, links, and availability may change. Reasonable care is taken, but uninterrupted access or error-free operation is not guaranteed.

2. Licence for printable and digital resources

Unless a product page states otherwise, obtaining a resource gives the purchaser or downloader a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use it personally and with students they directly teach.

Ordinary studio use is allowed. A private teacher may print or display the resource for their own students and use it during their own lessons.

You may not

  • Resell, redistribute, upload, email, or share the original files with other teachers, studios, schools, online groups, or resource libraries.
  • Post files or answer keys publicly, including on websites, shared drives, learning platforms, or social media.
  • Remove ownership notices or present the work as your own.
  • Modify a resource for resale, sublicensing, or inclusion in another commercial product.
  • Use the content to train or populate a competing commercial resource collection.

A school, multi-teacher studio, district, or organization needing shared access should request an appropriate licence through the Contact page.

3. Free downloads, purchases, and delivery

Free resources may use a $0 Payhip checkout. Paid digital resources may be sold through Payhip or another platform identified on the listing. Physical books may be sold by Amazon, and sheet music may be offered through MuseScore or MyMusic5.

Prices, taxes, currencies, accounts, payment processing, and delivery options shown by an external platform are governed by that platform at checkout. You are responsible for providing an accurate email address and maintaining access to any account required for delivery. Do not share payment credentials through this website’s Contact form.

4. Refunds and download problems

Because digital files can normally be accessed immediately, completed digital-download purchases are generally final except where required by law, the file is materially defective, the listing was materially inaccurate, or the selling platform provides a different policy. Duplicate purchases and genuine technical problems will be reviewed reasonably.

Contact paperlesspiano@gmail.com with the product title, order number, and checkout email. Purchases made through Amazon, MuseScore, MyMusic5, or another marketplace are also subject to that marketplace’s refund process.

5. Sheet music and third-party services

The sheet-music directory links to external listings. Availability, preview access, pricing, printing, downloads, territory restrictions, and licensing are controlled by the destination platform and may change without notice. Follow the licence supplied with each score. A link does not imply ownership of third-party compositions, lyrics, recordings, characters, or trademarks.

6. Intellectual property

Original website writing, layouts, graphics, worksheets, books, arrangements, branding, and other original materials are protected by applicable copyright and intellectual-property laws. “The Paperless Piano Teacher” and associated branding may not be used in a way that suggests endorsement, affiliation, or authorship without permission.

You may quote short portions of public articles with clear attribution and a link to the source. Requests for broader reproduction, review copies, media use, translations, or institutional licences should be made through Contact.

7. RCM and other third-party references

The Paperless Piano Teacher is an independent piano studio and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by The Royal Conservatory of Music. RCM® and Royal Conservatory of Music® are trademarks of The Royal Conservatory of Music and are referenced only to describe examinations or learning contexts that resources may help users prepare for.

“RCM-aligned” does not mean official, approved, or guaranteed to satisfy every current examination requirement. Teachers and students should consult current official requirements directly.

8. Educational information and liability

Resources and articles provide general educational information, not legal, medical, financial, or individualized professional advice. Results depend on the student, teacher, context, and how a resource is used. No specific examination result, learning outcome, income, or business result is guaranteed.

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, the site and resources are provided “as is.” The Paperless Piano Teacher is not responsible for indirect or consequential loss arising from site interruption, reliance on general information, external platforms, or misuse of a resource. Nothing in these terms limits rights or liabilities that cannot legally be excluded.

9. Privacy, changes, and severability

Use of personal information is described in the Privacy Policy. These terms may be updated when the site, services, or law changes. The date above identifies the current version. If one provision is unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue to apply.

10. Governing law and contact

These terms are governed by the laws of Ontario and the applicable laws of Canada, without limiting mandatory consumer rights that apply where you live.
